I looked in the forums and all I kept getting was the background swapper.
Is there any way to switch the theme for the desktop like you switch the background?
I like the royale noir theme, but I don't want to go through the the trouble of switching it on every computer I use, obviously.
If this is possible lease tell me how.

as far as I know that option will be made available in the next release.

Oh, alright thanks.
Do you know the link to where you read this?
I would just like to read about it.
Zach he's asking about the computer's theme not PAM's. The menu will not support changing the computers theme because it involves swapping .dll's and registry changes that need admin privs.

Yea, I thought I said that, sorry I guess I didn't
It's okay it's no big deal. Thanks for being understanding of the misunderstanding though

Only that, i had the same question
So is anybody working on it?
It's not gonna happen. You need admin privs for one thing usually, and you really shouldn't be screwing around with another person's computer that much.

You need to patch the theme DLL in Windows with one you find distributed illegally online (and then reboot) in order to load non-Microsoft themes.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Wouldn't it be possible to have it for official Microsoft themes?

It would, but there really aren't that many. XP had the included Luna theme in Blue, Silver and Green. Royale (the shiny blue media center theme) was later released. And then came Royale Noire which was a 95% finished theme based on Royale that was going to be used. And then Zune which is basically Royale Noire with Zune Orange highlights.
Of course, this wouldn't work with Vista since you can't load XP themes on Vista or vice versa.
Bottom line is that it is technically possible, but it's not terribly useful for the general userbase. Specific users with only XP machines only using it at work and home could possibly make use of it, though.
