Is there a way to convert a u3p application back to a regular 'hard-disk '
application?
Or just run a u3p app without a u3 pen drive?
Thanks

.u3p files are .zip files renamed, you can extract them normally.
But nor all of the U3 applications will run without a U3 drive, because some needs to pass on a routine that only the launchpad does.
Yes, I managed to extract the files, but running the extracted exe files , gives a fatal error.
As stated above not all U3 programs can be extracted and run. Some depend on the U3 platform to run. What program are you trying to run?

Why would u want to do this anyway? You can simply install the application and then use it as though it is a regular HDD program (except for registry related stuff). Which a bit of effort, u can add the program to your Start menu (I think), add shortcuts, file associations, etc.
He wants to do this the same reason I do, I presume. There are some programs that are u3p that aren't exe. Most U3 programs you CAN'T, "simply install the application and then use it as though it is a regular HDD program.." That's why he, and I, want to know how to convert. Is there is a tool out there yet or a good way of doing it. I can tell you don't deal with U3 at all, because you are sounding like an a&&, mr. desterlemmer. either help people, or keep your comments to yourself.

Adam, that was really uncalled for, especially in your first post in the forums
Also, you are replying to a post over 3 months old and the commenter is unlikely to still be following this thread to defend himself if he so wished.
Please try to use some restraint.
In answer to the question, there is no such tool. Many programs can be extracted from U3 and used, many cannot, it is a trial and error thing, and you may loose "portability" of the app. While in the past the owner of this site made a couple of u3 programs this is not a U3 site and doing this is not really a concern of ours, sorry

Hey, Kutchbhi. All you have to do to play your .u3p games and apps on your computer is:
Copy/Paste your games and apps to (C:) then advance to Program Files and add the files there. Then you need to add your u3p Launch Pad to the same area. After you complete that then try to play them.
