Sourceforge sux

I was good, then. But now I can´t download anything. It´s liek they sold all the servers and just kept the old 486 or something. It takes at least 20 retries, and the mirrors are all crap. Can´t you use something else instead? Filehippo or what ever. I´m trying to avoid Sourceforge, because I don´t have the time to wait till I´m (very) old.

Thx.

PS.: Sry just pissed off right now...
Delete it if you want, I don´t care.

What were you trying to

What were you trying to download, as I, at the school here, can get downloads of up to 1.1MB/s. If you can give some more definite info, I may be able to help.
I have trouble downloading sometimes, and find its settings that I have changed on the Router or in Firefox, or even in IE.
I also have downloaded several things today, so I can attest to it working well for me.
Sometimes it also depends on where and what server your downloading from.

ie. Downloading from the East, living in the West... Can slow downloads.

I tried the latest Open

I tried the latest Open Office, Poker and some other stuff. It´s not the downloadspeed. WHEN the download starts it´s fine. But it doesn´t.

I tried FF 3.0.5 portable and

I tried FF 3.0.5 portable and installed, IE and Opera, I deaktivatet plugins in FF and tried some other stuff. I know my PC and my software very well, so I know when it´s a problem caused by me or something else. I can browse 12 websites (tabs) at the same time and download stuff with max speed, but when it comes to Sourceforge, it´s like back in time ´94. Slow, long waiting times etc.

Link Wrong

The download link for OpenOffice.org Portable was wrong and fixed a few hours after your post.

As for slowness, try switching mirrors. SourceForge.net has partner mirrors all over the world. Some are good. Some not so much. If you find a good one for your geographic area, set it permanently and it'll remember it in your cookies.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Yes. Patiens. You are right.

Yes. Patiens. You are right. Calmness is the soul of power, as we say in germany.

Yeah ..

Sourceforge hosts thousands of FOSS-projects,provides SVN-repositories
and forums for support . I can see how that "sucks" compared to "filehippie" ..
Why don't you just use pay-ware instead ?

Sarcasm usually bows right past me like a hurricane can you tell me if you were being serious, or just having fun there?
