Don't

A good percentage of mail servers will filter out mail sent via BCC so its use is no longer recommended except where you're sure you're in the BCCed person's address book. Including a lot of email addresses in a CC that don't already know each other is considered very bad form... and a security issue as you're exposing all kinds of email addresses to other people... which, if a single person on that list has a spammer's worm on their PC... all of those email addresses are now compromised and in the hands of the spamming losers.

What exactly is the point of the CC and BCC fields, anyway? In my experience, you can put multiple addresses in the To field. Why, then, do you need CC and BCC?

They are useful

To vs CC is primarily for indicating who the message is mainly intended for (and who you expect a reply from) vs those that you just want to keep in the loop. That's why email clients maintain To vs CC for replies.

Bcc is handy for, say a boss sending a disciplinary or policy email to an employee and BCCing HR. Or his boss. BCC was used a lot in the corporate world before email for memos that you wanted to be sure others knew were sent but did not want the recipient to know they got a copy.

Hence "Blind Carbon Copy." Now it makes sense--the recipient never sees what's in the BCC field. I always wondered what the difference between CC and BCC was.

Reduces clutter

Back when I was still working, we used Bcc to reduce the clutter. Emails would be sent to hundreds, if not thousands of people. Can you imagine what it was like to scroll through screen after screen of To or Cc. Of course technology has changed since the "semi-dark ages", so it has less value in those respects.

I don't know when email first started, but I used it in the 70's when the output was still mostly paper. Monitors (ie Terminals) were few and far between, connectivity was to a mainframe or DEC mini via a 300 baud (or less) modem.
