Religion Not A Factor

Chris, someone's religion is not a factor when translating this app. There isn't really anything Christian-specific in the interface. And even if there were, asking for someone with good familiarity with those terms in English as well as their own language would be acceptable... asking for someone that is Christian would not be.

More reasons, decision

I would hope that it would not be something which would affect people.
However, this was a decision reached by the BPBible development team (really, my two elder brothers) - ask for preferably Christians. The real reason for this (though probably not the most obvious one, sorry for not specifying it) is that they are much more likely to be familiar with all the proper names of various things; it was put in for quality control purposes.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I am a Christian and a developer and moderator here.

Please Change It

You may not express a preference for people of the Christian faith. Period. It is, quite simply, discriminatory. Would not a student of religion know these names and terms? Or someone who chose another path in life after being raised Christian? Or someone who simply became interested and learned form a philosophical viewpoint?

PortableApps.com is an inclusive project. So this very much goes against the spirit and the letter of what we're trying to do here at PortableApps.com.

Not onlt discriminatory

I agree John such a stipulation is discriminatory. But not only that it is highly offensive ... to other Christians. (Count me as one being as I'm an Anglican --- translated as Episcopalian on the west side of the pond ---, a translator, and subscriber to the Sword developers' mailing list.) Translation is translation is translation no matter who does it.
