Sumatra PDF: Able to open pdfs in browser

Just like how Adobe opens pdfs inside firefox. Problem is that my Firefox always crashes once it opens Adobe Reader to open the pdf. I tried to tweak settings on Menu>Tools>Options>Applications>Adobe Acrobat Document and changed that to be open using Sumatra PDF. I clicking on a .pdf site and it is just blank (sometimes Firefox Crashes)

I think (meaning I'm not

I think (meaning I'm not sure) the Adobe Reader/Firefox combo might be some plugin or something and that's why it can open PDF files INSIDE FF. Again I'm not sure. I haven't really gone into this - I just save the PDF and open it with Foxit. I have setup FF to use Foxit for PDF's so once I have downloaded the file and tell it to open from within the FF download manager it uses Foxit by default. I really hate Adobe Reader - it's too big, too slow...

Foxit has a plugin that

Foxit has a plugin that downloads the pdf first and automatically opens the pdf after.

Sumatra can't

open pdfs inside a browser. If you set it as the program inside Firefox, it should open a new Sumatra window with the pdf you selected inside Firefox. Afaik, neither Foxit nor Adobe are truly portable so they aren't an option for me. I just download pdf's to my desktop and open them from there.

Hey Simeon I never cared

Hey Simeon

I never cared Sumatra is better than the commercial cr@p anyway but what the problem normally is is windows really needs to support these things (portable applications) better so you can set default programs etc.

I mean if it was easy I'd be using Thunderbird instead of OE but it's just such a pain when not even FF can be set up to open a mail client on it's own.

There may be hope though and it's totally off topic but WLM is now opening WLM regardless of what is the default client on the system.
