I believe there is a way in an ini file or something similar. I might be wrong as I am not very knowledgeable with computers but I seem to recall seeing a similar question to yours some time back.
There should be a ThunderbirdPortable.ini in ThunderbirdPortable/Other/Source.
Copy this file to the ThunderbirdPortable root directory.
Edit the line in the ini that reads DisableSplashScreen to say DisableSplashScreen=true
