Ok, looks like a new version of pidgin came out, and solved the problem of MSN address not connecting.
So, i downloaded the 2.5.4 version, opened with 7zip, and:
- overwrote all the dll in the main folder to \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
- overwrote the folders in $_OUTDIR to corresponding folders in \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
- renamed the pidgin.exe to pidgin-portable.exe and overwrote the one in \PidginPortable\App\Pidgin
i'm testing it, and looks like everythign is working fine, also msn protocol.
BTW it fixed also the issue of the hanging and crashing upon closing.
That worked for me, and hope i didnt' do too bad things obviously if you try i'm not responsible of any harm
Since 11 of this month that the problem to login MSn have because the MSN address problem.

Version 2.5.4 of PidginPortable is now available at:
https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/pidgin_portable
It appears to be working fine. Thanks for the quick turnaround on the portable version!
P.S.: This would be a good thing to add to the What's New section of the home page. -Nile
