Pidgin is constantly crashing when I change an Alias. I downloaded the newest copy this morning to see if it there was something wrong with the copy I have, but it still crashes. I have tried this out on four different computers before giving up on using aliases. By installing it locally, I can get aliases to work, but not for the portable version.
Wow, I just realized that the above totally makes my sound like a n00b. No clue how to word it better though. Whenever I go to set an alias, Pidgin completely crashes.

When you downloaded your newest copy, did you just install, or did you delete your old installation first? One thing you might want to try, is just copy the old installation, or rename the PidginPortable folder and reinstall again with a fresh download. Then try to setup aliases again.
Give that a shot and let us know how it goes.
It was a complete fresh install.
I have also tried moving the Pidgin portable folder to the local hard drive and it still crashes.
Please remove your signature as 1) we don't allow links in signatures, use the homepage URL instead; and 2) we don't support images at all.

Pidgin is crashing when i try to view my buddies. It is a fresh install. Does anyone know what is causing this.
I don't have a short attention span. I just...oh look a kitty!
