eSpeak Portable is currently under development. it is a voice synthisizer i made with the app compactor. For example this app is great for those who have a print related disibility, such as myself, because we can coppy and paste the text into the box and have Micorsoft Windows XP or newer's built-in TTS engine read the text to us.
you can download it here:

However those that are totaly blind, or legaly blind wloud want a full on screen reader aplication such as NVDA portable both are based off of the existing Windows XP TTS engine or off ot the voices included with the program.
I will be opened a buliten board on fourmer, if anyone wants we can colaborate on accesibility apps. This includes For problems using the computer and print related disiblites including dislexya.

Using the appcompactor does not make an application portable. It just compresses the files to make them smaller and in no way does it take care of anything the program creates, such as registry, paths, etc. I dont know if the above program is opensource, if it is then you can keep the link up, if not then you will either have to create a launcher for it and just link to that. By creating a launcher you do not include anything of program just a script that would make it portable. But hopefully someone else will clarify to you how to properly make an application portable using the paf format. I cant do so now as I am currently busy at the moment.

I forgot all about that Compactor...
I didn't even use it in AkelPad Portable....
Well thanks for reminding me
I have not yet tried this offering, but I can help clarify the license.
Espeak is available from http://espeak.sourceforge.net and the program description clearly states it is 'open source'.
This would go nicley along with all the other accessability apps for disabled people. good on you for trying. i'll suggest it in the Request Apps forum. it would be good.

This Was Actually my first attempt on a portable app! It came very easily all i really needed to do was compact it and make a installer since it was OSS released under the GNU\GPL this was very easy to do i used Paquet builder to make the installer only because i don't know how to use nullsoft so if sum1 wants to re-package it that would be great also. I am However Familiar With The GNU License and why as portable app developers we can't package brand-name software.
By the way i also do a lot of GUN?GPL development in the line of contributions on wikipedia, you can check out my uerspace at:

Believe Me I Would not put up a download that would infringe on copyright
No you aren't infringing upon any copyrights... But just compressing it and making the installer doesn't make it portable.... It needs to be able to load its settings on start, remove them on exit, while leaving no private data on the computer you used it on.... Just compressing it won't do that.
iLike Macs, iPwn, However you put it... Apple is better ^_^

ok i gues i posted in the wrong section or i forgot to mention that tis is not a BETA but a Development Test Let's Call it Version D1
that the app compacter will in no way make the app portable just smaller as mentioned earlier so you will need to start again and make it portable.
You shoule look at the nvda portable, now in betta i think, it basicly does wht you are doing with it. as far as I have worked out espeak is a platform that runs on envda and not a seperate app in itself. nvda uses espeek as the default synthisiser
