I dont really understand why this cant be done, as i am not a developer.
but here is my request
Please please please. Include the ability to scan other folders besides the portable apps folder.
For example if i had a folder called Putty which was under \portableapps\network tools\putty\putty.exe as it sits right now i would have to create a custom shortcut to that.
unless im missing the boat some where here

I assume you're talking about the PortableApps Menu (aka "PAM") since you don't mention it. PAM only looks one folder level below the root folder since that's where the PortableApp launcher executables live.

yea but see thats what i dont understand. I like the portable apps launcher.
Im also a fairly organized person.
What Id like to see is something like this so I dont have to jump through alot of hoops to make it work.
So you main "apps" directory is portable apps. well below that lets say i create a folder called network tools then below that i create one call putty which would house putty.exe
so your path would look like this
portableapps\network tools\putty\putty.exe
i would like to see portable apps scan sub directories or it to allow with ease to create shortcuts to these items. I dont really see why its limited to that folder in the first place.
on another note...batch files. it should just run the batch file with out havgin to use a third party launcher to do so...
there are competing products like pstart, portable apps menu, and a few others that can do this.
But, scanning sub-folders would mean all the non-portable application versions appeared on the menu, not just their launchers.

yea sorry i meant portable start menu, which is different than pam
see my cheif complaint here that I have applications that use a series of batch files, some apps arnt portable and they dont need to be (mainly some of the spyware apps I use, like combofix, etc) and really putty, is pretty portable as it is. as it doesn't write anything to the registry in the first place. so why does it need to be portable.

but even that doesnt make sense it could still be organized. instead of dumping it in just one folder.
other launchers that support this include
winpen, asuite, portable start menu, dcot (even dcot which is ini based can do this), geek.menu (fork of pam, was working on this)
