Art Weaver ?

I just discovered the ArtWeaver application (thanks to solanus), and I was wondering if somebody would be willing to create a PortableApps version of it. I guess this is the closest a freeware graphical design software can be of Adobe Photoshop.

I looked at the license, and it unfortunately doesn't seem to be GPLv2/3 licensed, only freeware :(.

Any hope in getting this software up in the PortableApps library oneday ?

Maybe someday, when freeware

Maybe someday, when freeware is "allowed".

Until then, someone could post a "launcher" for the portable version of ArtWeaver.

Anyone building?

Would be cool to have an official portable apps launch for portable artweaver.

Is someone building?

They offer a portable version

On their Download page
http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?downloads_en

It's a zip file, but all you need to do is unzip it into X:\PortableApps\Artweaver

The exe will appear in your PA menu just fine.

I don't know what the author did to "Portablize" it - I haven't done a thorough analysis of the registry, but I don't think it puts anything in it except in the MRU keys, and nothing in the Documents and Settings folders.

I've been using this with no problems as portable.

P.S. Glad you like it, m-p-3!

I'm not sure I know what the advantage would be

I mean, for most apps in the PA arsenal, the launcher app is a necessity, to help corral all the reg keys and local settings and redirect them, because the original apps were not portable.
But this one already is, so I don't know what the advantage would be.

What about the way

What about the way PortableApps like TaskCoach can find the last file even if you changed Drive Letters. For ArtWeaver this would mean the file history could be used still when changing drives rather than re-finding the image file you were working on 1/2 hour ago on a different pc.
