I am trying to make an ObjectDock Portable Launcher and I really need help with the ObjectDockPortable.nsi and the other stuff in the Source folder. I have no idea what to put where. This is what I have done.
This folder includes the Object Dock Portable folder, the HTML file of the registry changes taken by Regshot, the files found in %USERNAME%\AppData\Local and %USERNAME%\Documents.
I really have no idea what to do or what i am doing and how to handle the registry entries. I took a Regshot; I Universal Extracted the ObjectDock.exe binary as I am on a standard user account (not admin) on Vista; and I placed the files in %MAIN% (or something like that) in the ObjectDock Portable\App\ObjectDock folder. I ran OB a few times and made a lot of changes and then took the 2nd shot.
Can anyone please make the changes necessary to make OB portable.....PLEASE!!!
When you are finished, please get the file back to me and if you could give an explanation as to what changes you did and why.
Preferably, can you please add non-technical, simple comments to the nsi's and nsh's and other files you changed as to what that section does and why you changed it, and what the change does.
Oh, and I didn't...well still don't know how to make the actual ObjectDock Portable.exe launcher. I played up in HM NIS and failed. Please include those stuff.
Only the Guerrilla Field Guide got me as far as I got...then it got to technical.
BTW....the ObjectDockPortable.nsi and the other stuff in the Source folder are copied from LightScreen Portable (I needed somewhere to start).
For starters, I recommend just getting an OSS app to work on. Not a Portable Launcher for some Freeware app.
I choose AkelPad because I thought I needed an easy app to start (I fail though).

I'll help you out and write that Script for you. With the Directions, and I'll try to make it as simple as it can go.
RocketDock. It's not OSS, but it has an option to store its settings in an ini file. The shortcuts need to be tweaked so that drive letters don't matter, but I love it. I even have a script that launches on autorun that removes the taskbar, launches the dock, and launches PAM. I have another script that restores the taskbar, closes the dock, and closes the PAM.
It rocks!
Yea..I have it but I like OB better. First of all, RD uses 15 Mb's of Ram on my computer while OB uses only 7. OB has a lot better features such as the ability to completely replace the Windows Taskbar. It shows ALL running windows, not only minimized; it hides the Taskbar (its just not the same as an autohide); and it even has a Start Menu shortcut and Show Desktop.
Did you?
I expected it by now but okay...
Yes i emailed u everything, and even email if u started yet because i haven't heard from you. I'm guessing u didn't get it so ill re-email everything.
I don't know what happened the first time but I got it this time. Thanks.
