Program to control PCs remotely

I think a great portable app would be something comparable to GOTOMY PC or logmein.com, ultraVNC, FreeNX etc...

Well most of those aren't open source, but somewhere (please search for it) there is a VNC launcher or some sort.

Lead, Follow, or get out of the way.

Why not get TeamViewer3.
It's already made for PAM and TeamViewer4 is out, but yet it hasn't made PAM menu yet 3:
