Have it set to always check if FX is the default browser, but the check mark will not stick in Portable 3.0.0.5. This has occurred 4 times on 4 different public computers whereby attempting to open a link from thunderbird results in internet explorer opening.
FYI, the same occurrs in portable TB 2.0.0.16 in that the default check mark will not stick.
You want to change the default browser on a public computer?

The PortableApps suite is meant to not change the system settings, otherwise it would break the portability purpose.
It seems that Thunderbird is launching the default browser when you click on a link. The only way to avoid this is to copy the link and open it into Portable FF.
On one occasion I guiltily changed the default setting on the public computer to open FF (and FF was installed on that computer). Interesting that it then opened the link in my PFF instead of the FF on the computer or IE.
Presumably you're right that if FF is not installed on the computer, opening links will need to be accomplished manually -- or remember to 1st open FF and change the option each time prior to clicking a link in TB.
