i've tried adding an .ini in the same folder as firefoxportable.exe, with the text, "DisableSplashScreen=true", but i'm still getting the splash screen.
However, when i run the firefox.exe in 'firefoxportable > app > firefox >' it doesnt appear. But i'm not sure if i should be running that .exe file, as thats the file i was running before, but when i tried using firefox on a different machine all my addons and cookies were gone.
Don't run firefox.exe - everything that makes the installation portable is held in the firefoxportable.exe (which does the magic stuff and then starts firefox.exe).

You probably have made a small error.
What is the exact name of the .ini ?
No quotes around the string in the .ini file.

copying the ini from /Other/Source to the same folder as firefoxportable.exe and change "DisableSplashScreen=false" to "DisableSplashScreen=true".
It doesnt work if you just create the ini file.
