why no portable apps for MAC?

Recently, I was presenting my collection of portable apps and other things and I was asked if they are also similar portable apps for MAC?

Well I have operated a mac abt twice in my life and have not much contact to any mac users, but are they any portable apps for mac or not?
Or do they have some feature like wine on linux to be able to run some of the apps anyway?

Sorry, but myself I have absolutely no clue about mac system, therefore the question here.

PortableApps.com has focused on Windows

As the PortableApps menu has been developed, and the folder structures and installer format have been formalized, this site has focused exclusively on Windows applications.

If you search this site, you will find posts about portable apps for Linux, and maybe one or two about MAC; they should give you an idea about the reasons why they are not a priority here.

However, if you Google "portable apps on MAC" you'll get a lot of stuff!

I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.

yes I am avare of linux

but never thought of mac, since as I mentioned, had access to some real mac only few times in my life.

Clearly, for Linux there are big technical reasons for things not being easy, but mac?

OK will search net for more infos.

There is a program for Mac (I don't remember the name). I have used it on a friends computer and basically simulates a Windows computer. You can run XP on it and still access your Mac files and programs (not dual booting). I know that it must first be installed on the computer for this to be of use but ma someone knows of a similar product.

Edit: The program was Parallels

I don't have a short attention span. I just...oh look a kitty!

Also....

There is a version of WINE for mac (but I think its a little outdated) and there is the boot camp. But these won't work on the older PowerPC Macs (and MANY people still have them) that is why I use FreeSMUG ^_^ Oh and there is also CrossOver.
