Problem with paths and OpenOffice doesn't start

I have installed OO on Desktop, then I copy it to another folder before run it. After that I tried to run OO from both directories: from desktop started, from the other dir didn't start. Any idea?

I tried to detect and I found that in "App\openoffice\program\bootstrap.ini" the string UserInstallation is changed (now is an absolute path), can it be the cause?

Thanks!

could be a path error ..

Don´t use very long paths, no pathnames like "open office" instead of "open_office" or "openoffice" ... that might help

ok..

Good, with short paths work fine.. but it will be better if it works with all paths. Do you know what is the part of the source code that fix these paths? ..so I can try to fix it.. thanks Wink

As far as I know this is a known bug in open office, not

the "portable" launcher, perhaps you could contact MarkoMLM who manages the portable version ...

No way :-(

... cause this in not an issue of the Portable version itself.
OpenOffice.org don't like long paths or path with blanks in it.
Thats not an issue with the installed version, cause this could be solved over the system integration (registry)
There was a fix to use Shortpaths instead of the full path but the result were another issues with extensions (its still in the source but commented out).

OpenOffice.org Portable is not designed for local installs! It works, but with some limitations. If You want to use it local with long paths or blanks in it, please use the full install. (Or use a working path Wink )

I'll perform some more tests ...

... but there is only a minor chance to solve it with the launcher.

I tried to install Open Office. It installs fine but when I open it, the load bar freezes and my computer says that open offic 3.1 portable has crashed. And then it closes. Any idea whats going on?
