I wanted to give a shout out to the developers and volunteers who help run this site and provide the awesome applications. I am nuts about portable software, and if they're free, so much the better!
I use the apps on here so much, and am going to make a donation to help support this site as well!
I do have a question though, in my quest for portable apps, I came across portablefreeware.com. What are the main difference betweens portablefreeware and portableapps?
Thanks for all your hard work and again I really appreciate the apps , and recommend them to all my friends / family.
Well the only difference is that portablefreeware lists apps that work portable. Not all of their apps are entirely portable. Some write and leave data on the host system. And, portablefreeware posts programs that are just freeware in general. Here it is a major attempt to have only open source software, although there is a chance that freeware may be supported here soon-ish (according to some other posts in the forums).

1. PF is a database and community site, PA develops portable apps.
2. PA uses stronger definition of what's portable. All PF lists is portable, but not necessarily PA-portable.
3. PA doesn't mess with closed source apps. It's soon to be changed for a few years already.
EDIT: I wrote this post before roamer answered, then adjusted my points to reply to him.

Thanks for the clarification! That helps me understand the objectives of the two a lot better.
Great great site!
