I know this is a Known Issue, but when I run the std download of portable Gimp, and get the intl.dll not found error. I downloaded the Experimental file, and it starts to load, but for each plugin that loads, I get the "intl.dll not found" error. It came up at least 20 times.
Anyone know how I can clean my system to get this to work?
Then your system has some serious cruft in the registry or something else GTK related. Installing and removing the latest GTK may help. But if the experimental has all those errors, there isn't much else we can help you with on that system.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Ive never installed GTK before, so have can I remove it? The only thing I did was download and run Portable Gimp, which has a GTK folder in it.
A lot of software uses it. It might have been installed by another program.

copy all .dll files from gimp/bin and gtk/bin to main folder where the .exe file is located. Thats what fixed it for me.
I got better fix:
- run Portable GIMP
- remember DLL name that report to crash
- find the DLL and copy it to \WINDOWS\System32 directory
- replace file if needed
also before given faq try renaming (if exists) mentioned DLL in \WINDOWS\System32 - only if that won't help copy the one from GIMP as I have written above

That wouldnt be good since your trying to make it portable and would probably have to do that on every computer you take it to. The way I did it still lets it be portable.
I found a problem, for instance with libxml2.dll
- just use rsearch in PortableGIMP directory to find that I got 2 diffirent files !
replacing older (from 2001 in GTK) with the newer one (from 2006, GIMP folder) fixed problem !
