Toucan 2.0.6 Hangs on Progress Screen for Backup Job on Windows XP

I recently upgraded from Toucan 2.0.4 to Toucan 2.0.6 and now the Modal Progress Screen Hangs during / after the backup. The progress screen pops up and the Compressed file is created, but the OK or Save buttons never enable and the Cancel Buttons doesn't seem to do anything. I end up having to kill the Job using Task Manager.

I am using Microsoft Windows XP Professional N Version 2002 Service Pack 3 on a Quad Core 2.66GHz CPU with 3.25 GB of RAM.

My Backup Job is configured as follows :
Type : Complete
Format : 7-Zip
Compression : Maximum (All the way to the right)
Other : Password unchecked.
Rules : None Selected

Below is the Output shown on the progress screen (I have replaced certain file names with a *).
If there is any other information that you need, please ask as I am not sure what other information you require.

Very

odd, I cannot repoduce this I am afriad. When it is not responding could you take a look in the task manager and see is the 7zip process is still there? Toucan is supposed to clean up once it has finished and enable those buttons.

Me too

I get exactly the same issue. I get it on both WinXPSP3 Home and WinXPSP3 Pro.
I blew away my installation of Toucan from the thumb drive and reinstalled but still get the same issue.

I was using a differential backup but it makes no difference.

I can't see a 7Zip process running there, just Toucan.exe chewing up 50% of CPU cycles.

I just now tried it using Zip for a Complete backup and I got the same issue.

7zip Process Ends

The .7z file is created and 7za.exe process ends when the "Everything is OK" is displayed on the progress screen. Just the OK and Save Buttons never enable.

I have also noticed that some of the exclusion rules are not kicking in (eg. The backup is defined for a parent directory, and I have a rule to exclude a sub directory, but the files in the sub directory are being backed up).

The backup / rule definitions I am using worked fine in 2.0.4.

Hope this helps.

Reverted to 2.0.4 - All OK there

I have now deleted 2.0.6 from my thumbdrive and reinstalled 2.0.4 and that version works fine in both my O/S environments (WinXPSP3 Home and WinXPSP3 Pro). I never got around to using 2.0.5 so I don't know if it had the same problem but I think there is another thread about similar problems with 2.0.5.

looks to be OK now - thanks

Just installed and ran the PRERELEASE and it works as expected with my WinXP Pro system. Will check later with my Home system but don't expect a problem.

Thanks guys

Works on my XP Home installation too

I'm having no problem now with 2.0.7_PRERELEASE1 on either my XP Pro work environment or XP Home setup.
Thanks.
