Hi everything,
I really trying to get ahold of a descent Portable Newsgroup Reader for my Portableapps Suite, at the moment I'd really like to use "newsrover.com"'s one, as I have used it in the past, and found it great to use.
Yet I have no idea on how to make it work indepently on a USB Flash Drive..
Please can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Paul.F

was: APP REQUEST PLEASE : Newsrover.com
Search for RSSOwl Portable. I don't think Ryan has updated the portable package in a while but it should work for you.
if so, then off-hand ThunderBird can do it quite passably. Don't know any other portable ones of the top of my head.
Yes thats correct I'm after a newsreader to get working, ideally if possible from the website "newsrover.com"
Its a wonderful program.
Perhaps I should be asking if their is a guide on here on "how to" make a application portable for ones USB Flash Drive?
Is their such a guide? a kinda of "how to do it yourself"
Thanks all.

Here ya go

Just install, copy folder onto your USB, then uninstall. one of the best.
I was blind, now I'm lost.
Try NFReader. Just download and extract the .zip file. It's already portable and stores settings to the app directory. I've been using it for quite a while and find it to be the best basic feed reader out there.
Website is in German, but the app is in English.
Download it here: http://www.gaijin.at/dlnfreader.php
you know thunderbird can handle rss
just create a new account like you would with a new email address and select rss instead

Newserover is actually an NNTP client, which is not RSS. However, thunderbird does handle NNTP if I remember correctly (it shows up as a newsgroup).
But there’s no sense crying over every mistake,
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
