I've been trying to release the new Firefox Portable for 2 hours now (since 9am) but have been held up by an issue within SourceForge. I have a ticket into support (priority support since I'm a SF member) and hope to have things running again soon.

SourceForge is aware of the issue and working to correct it.

I've noticed these hickups quite frequently recently....

As a friend of mine said... "SourceForge has really unreliable servers." Half the time I can't get into their subversion database. (tons of 503 errors--"Service Unavailable").

Unfortunately, at the moment, I don't have much choice in terms of what to use for downloads. If I had the downloads running from the PortableApps.com server in Houston, it would probably get overloaded during peak download periods. And my bandwidth bill for just this month so far would be $17,883.

Seems to be up at the moment

Embrace your dreams
I've been attempting to obtain the new version since you posted it July 27... every time I try I get the following message:
Could not read file.
Go back. /home/ftp/pub/sourceforge//s/so/sourceforge/portablefirefox/Firefox_Portable_1.5.0.5_en-us.exe
If I try to drill down from the prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ I get an error message saying the following:
You are requesting file: /p/po/portablefirefox/Portable_Firefox_1.5.0.3_en-us.zip
There was a problem downloading the file from
superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net
. Please try a different mirror. When I choose a different server, I get the same results.
The Support page states that we should tell the project that provides those downloads.
Just thought I'd put in my $0.02 worth about the status...
/s/ When life turns your dreams to dust, vacuum
I checked a few and all work just fine. Remember, SourceForge just redirects to a mirror server that's outside its control. I don't eveb see Super West in my list of available mirrors.

finally! i had to go to the sourceforge.net main page and search for portable firefox and drill down to the download! yeehaw!!

I used to use superb-east, but now I prefer optusnet, even though it's in Australia and I'm on the opposite end of the world in America. It seems to be the most reliable mirror of the bunch.

PortaBlog Home and My Website
PortaBlog is now officially out of beta!
"If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate."
I can mirror the apps.
I'll download and upload a bunch of the apps the next time I'm at the library (dialup at home).
Vintage!
The SourceForge mirrors themselves are quite reliable. When someone is having difficulties, it's almost always a local issue. The one exception is when there's a server error on the main SourceForge server... but these are usually fixed pretty quickly.

Oh. I guess I got the wrong impression from some of the comments.
Vintage!
Yeah, I didn't mean to insinuate that the mirrors were unreliable, as the reality is quite the opposite. It's the SourceForge site itself that's unreliable.
