Cheat book data-base

this is something that no gamer should be without

cheat book data-base has a long list of consoles and also has online and downloadable games
all its cheats are from the website.

i think this would make a great portable app and it is not breaking any copyright laws! (i think)

Sadly...

It's freeware and it's not going to be legally portable.

I would have enjoyed this too Sad

Portable Firefox

Portable Firefox. Search Google with the code:

"name of game here" site:gamefaqs.com

They've always been pretty thorough, and their walkthroughs are more valuable than straight-up cheat codes any day of the week.

Only problem is some computers block that site (for good reason, too) but if you're at a computer that has gamefaqs.com blocked, you're probably not playing a video game console, unless it's a DS or PSP I guess.

I cannot imagine an actual program which maintains a database of millions of cheat codes. It would be terribly bloated and rarely up to date.

Seems to me asking for a portable cheat code database would be about the same as asking for portable Gmail, right?

Umm it was updated monthly and use cheat from GAMEFAQ. it was useful for those who did not have access to the Internet at home. Also it allows you to enter your own codes into its database. this was quite usefull when i had thousands of pages worth of GameGenie codes.

Heh... Cheatbook is still

Heh... Cheatbook is still around? it is basicly portable already. I have used it for the past 6 or so years. the reason i stopped is because i found some sites that where much more useful.

Its a great idea but have you read the liscense? its freeware and some of the later versions had spy/malware attached to the installer.

It would be perfect to see it portable

Hello,

I am also using CheatBook.
Not because I am cheating, because there are also tips and tricks for games (like tactics, some easter eggs etc.).

It would be perfect to see CheatBook as a portable app.
This means a monthly update (every month a new database update is released containing new entries).
The actual database is 01/2012, so CheatBook is alive and active.

Greetings

OLLI
