I'm really happy to see the new version and I'm looking forward to 2.0 in a couple of weeks, but...
When reading through the list of what's new in 1.5 I immediately stumbled over the 2 perhaps most wanted features: renaming and hiding of apps/icons The new look ain't bad either but "finish" ain't something I care particularly much about personally... However I immediately right-clicked some app. icons and up popped the Rename Menu ... but how do you hide icons?
It's linked to from the download page

Lots of other good information too
Tim
Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
... for the quick reply So a single "-" is all it takes apparently, nice
With regards to the link to Support I completely forgot it was "down there" on the page :o I've become accustomed to immediately clicking the download button at any app. page when arriving here ... usually from a feed about an update to one of the apps.
man that sucks. Been waiting for that feature forever. It is useful for nonportable apps programs that have more than 1 execute file.
Well keep up the good job guys
In 1.5, you can hide icons--just right-click the program and rename it to a single hyphen ("-"). That will hide it.
Rename it to - (just the minus sign)
I made this half-pony, half-monkey monster to please you.
That's not very intuitive...
It's temporary until the next release in a couple weeks when we can get words like "Hide Icon" translated into 37 languages.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I think that you should make an English release and translate it later. After all, English is an international language. This way we will have more time to test it before making the final version!
PS:
In Romanian:
Hide Icon=Ascunde Programul
Artificial intelligence stands no chance against natural stupidity!
Could you make in advance the thread in the localization forum with the strings to be translated, that way when the development started, most strings would be ready or would only need a little modification.
Also, taking the idea from th3wildwolf and your theme package, how about making locale packages, that can be installed like themes? That way buggy translations or unfinished translations could be updated without having to re-release the menu again.
Also:
Portuguese - Portugal (pt-PT)
Blue is everything.
This will also mean more space on the drive! (not much though)
Artificial intelligence stands no chance against natural stupidity!
I agree with th3wildwolf and ptmb on this subject.
By the way...
Portuguese - Brazil (pt-BR)
is also
Alive and kicking!

I want to rename Cornice Portable to Cornice Portable Image Viewer in the PortableApps menu but right clicking it doesn't do anything. Am I misinterpreting this help?:
Renaming Icons in the PortableApps.com Menu
To rename an app icon, just right-click on it. A rename window will appear and you can enter the name you'd like and click OK. The originally name is shown above for your reference. If you'd like to reset the icon to the original name, just clear the text from the rename box. Any changes you make are instantly shown on the PortableApps.com Menu.
Be sure you're running the new 1.5 release. You can click Help and then About to see. If you're not yet, it's a small 1MB download:

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I suspected I might not be using the latest version, but there's no "About" on the menu. When I click the Help button my Portable Firefox opens with the PApps Support web page, https://portableapps.com/support, and the About Us link doesn't give a version.
How do I tell which version I am using? And how do I tell the version of the update?
I will use your link to download a newer version, but the =1.1.0.0 doesn't seem to indicate it's version 1.5.
Thanks.
In that case, you're using a very old 1.0.x release. Download the 1.5 Platform and install it to your portable device to the same place (usually the root directory, aka X:\, which is recommended) and it'll upgrade it for you.
It's the first download button here:

Thanks, did that and all is OK now.
