Now I got the Mini vMac to work half way. (or full I can't tell)
If you do a Google search you get over a ton of Linux for USB, for CD, but I can't get them to work 
Has any one got it to work for them. If so post that you have it working and and your email an I'll E-you for further info.

Particularly the portableubuntu on sorceforge is fun, runs with colinux kernel full under windows, ok has still some bugs in it and compatibility issues with the special kernel version, but works.
Other work fine under quemu like the portable mac
Alternatively you can look for moka5 , lot of finished virtual machines are ready for download there.

I Was able to find a Portable Linux that worked (the Damn Small Linux). I got it a midnight so I don't know where I got it from. I think it was the pen drive site.
The only problem with it is it isn't packed all that well so i can be called portable.

since mostly all is arranged so that it runs in quemu and this will attempt to install an accelerator on the host.
This is then not true portable, but there is no big way around it apparently.
Then you can download the the moka5 and lot of finished operating systems, but this too will need admin rights to install all its drivers thought temporary.
Also the colinux driven versions will need admin rights to install the drivers, so there seem to be simply no way to make such things portable in the way people understand it here.
You will then not be able to run such things from restricted account in school, work, internet cafe...
remamber: this is all about to run other operating system from an incompatible operating system, so it will run in a virtual environment, appart from the colinux which is trying to share directly resources with the host. This might be very problematic from security point of view, since it is breaking the sole right of the operating system to access hardware. Therefore it will also work only with special kernel and you can not simply install any distro to it by yourself.
You can also try things like portable virtual box, is has still some bugs in it, but might work for you.
This would be then full virtual machine and will be less resources hungry then the mokka5.

Ok, What if the quemu was installed in the program and all the drivers were there that way when you clicked one the icon it just asked you how much RAM is available/want and when you tell it how big of a disk image you want (this would only happen on the first start up) and it would then run with no downloads and it all stays on the thumb drive. and, you could click on a different icon and and change the settings and add another disk image if you wanted too.

then they are needed and have to be installed. The drivers in the quemu packages here are included and all goes automatically as you suggest.
Try the linuxlauncher provided and you will see that all works quite as you suggest. The quemu is installed, the driver for the quemu accelerator (this is the one needing the admin rights) , you will be asked how much ram you want etc and the selected distro will be run in the quemu. You get even a menu of some 6 or so distros you can start , in fact hey will also be automatically downloaded from the particular server when run the first time.
When external drivers are needed for something under windows, they need to be installed, this is unfortunately so.

Not yet. But I found a awesome guide here. Not the cheater methid, down and dirty full blown GRUB setup.
I'm just gonna cheat and add an entry to my laptops grub, but want to get the thing fully running on its own accord.

May I suggest requesting a free cd from Ubuntu?
you'll need a floppy with GRUB on it. What I didn't know (RTFM, stupid) is that UNetBootin modifies the boot loader, then resets it.
There's plenty of guides on setting up a GRUB floppy.

I've gotten Portable Apps to work under Wine & Crossover. Am working with Klik also. Tried Rox Desktop, but that didn't pan out. Any other ideas out there?
