I have been using Babylon Pro for sometimes now. Does anybody know any alternatives similar to Babylon Pro? If portable will be even better.

Haven't found one yet, but thought I might mention a couple of FF extensions that are nice. (which of course require an internet connection) FoxLingo & gTranslate
I don't know if this would be any help to John, but I stumbled accross IniTranslator.

I am looking into all the likes and advices you have given. I do want to have something to use offline and also I want to use it cross applications, i.e. when I am typing in MS Word; when I am reading in Acrobat; or I am working in seeing something on a new software's menu, anyhow not necessarily online. Also I like the click and get definition feature. I do not want to retype or Copy and Paste again into a browser. That would be what I enjoy in Babylon (http://www/babylon.com) and what I am looking for in alternatives.
Thank you all for interested in this. Hope we together can find something.
