I should have most out to you within the next few days.
I hope this release is good, cause I used up the last of my download limit to get it.

and with the the points mentioned by Jacoby re: compression level and logging will be even better.
I've been using MiniUp for months now, it its perfect, however before i switch to Backup i'd like to see a progress meter and the ablity to save the all the current setting regarding folder source and location like that of MiniUp and also the compression level and filename. If or when that happens i'll make the switch.
Oh, also like to add, maybe the possibltiy of having the go button on the right side, makes the process flow a bit better (if that makes sense). I've already hit the about button more often than the go button.
I like it that the backup/restore are now integrated in one program
I agree with twnty3svn's comments, but then if you are going to merge Sync with Backup then the user interface will change anyway so I'll reserve judgement until then, although his comments might still be valid and be worth considering.
Moving the button is easy, and I don't believe I forgot the saving of paths. However the progress meter in Miniup didn't actually work as it, like Backup, use the command line version of 7zip. This would make a progress meter very difficult if not impossible.
ok, I'm confused. I tried downloading it, but Sourceforge is saying "This project has not yet created any file release packages." Its quite annoying, i have searched high and low, but i just cant find it. Am i doing it wrong?
well, then its been screwed up for a while, as i tried dl the old version a while back, but i still had the same problem.
all well, i will keep trying.
Liberta Backup 2.0 doesn't work on my Windows 98 machine...
...unfortunately it just 'sits there', telling me that it's 'performing operations' but won't do anything. did some research but couldn't find anything on windows version compatibility or .NET requirements. would you enlighten me? because it just beautifully looked like the backup program i was always looking for! ;| cheers, raimerik
but "Effective July 11, 2006, Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (and their related components) will transition to a non-supported status. After this date, Microsoft will no longer provide any incident support options or security updates. Microsoft is not offering a custom support agreement for these products."
Maybe Backup/C++ doesn't support it either?
Steve, have you tried it on Win 95/98/ME?

.NET is known to have issues under 9x versions of Windows ("9x" actually includes Me, believe it or not), even though MS says it will run on those versions. If Libertá Backup is written in .NET, that could explain the issue.
It's C++. Not .NET in sight (thank god).

hello.
steve still on holiday?
because i totally agree with you guys that there shouldn't be a win98 problem.
but it's there. on both my win98se laptops...
now with the .NET possibility ruled out there is only one hope: super-steve!
any clues?

ps: @rmccue - i wouldn't know what windows98 end of support would have to do with your nice little portableapps not working in win98?!
right then, so you say it doesn't do anything, in the backup folder is the file 7za.exe present, if not re-download and try again. Otherwise could you tell we which settings you have been using. I can't think of why it shouldn't work so we'll have to treat this like a voyage of discovery.

After some speed test I have found that Backup runs at approx 150MB/min. What have you found?

7zip is open source...

Hmm. Don't know why it wouldn't work under 98, then. Shouldn't be a problem.
