My mom works at a chiropractic center and all was well until... The printer broke down. Now, important customer documents can't be printed. We don't actually know what happend all we know is that the printer hasn't been able to print. Here is what we did:
-We checked all connections and ejected and re-injected the usb cords into the computer and made sure all connections were properly connected.
-once, when we tried again we got this message:
"Click here to open to print queve, and then for assistance, click troubleshoot on the help menu."
-We tried printing from different web browsers and still got the same message.
-Does anyone have any ideas to what is causing this problem and how we can fix it?
try updating/reinstalling the printer drivers

1. Is it on? I know this is really simple, but I had this problem like a month ago, and I'm a very experienced programmer here. When I turned it on... like 20 papers started printing
2. Out of ink?
3. Try saving the document as a picture and printing from an image viewer. (If this doesn't work, then this means that it's a printer problem, not a printing program problem)
If what Zach Hudock said and what I stated doesn't work, then...
You should go to the site of the company that created the printer.
For example, my printer is made by HP.
Let's say I don't know that their domain is http://www.hp.com/
I would go to Google and search for HP.
Once at their site, I would see where to get help.
Or... go to Microsoft.com or some other site, depending on your Operating System. Linux, Mac, etc...
I hope this helps.
and that's who i'm targetting...
anyway, yes its on, no its not out of ink (or paper), and i tried printing with different programs and none worked.
Did you try updating the drivers? I know this can be difficult for many including myself but I have read of freeware apps online that do it automatically. Names like Driver Wizard or stuff.
However due to the nature of drivers I would trying everything beforehand. Sorry for dumb question but have you opened it to heck for a jam or pushed the paper try downward or taken some out put some in. All lil things that to a techy may seem primitive but by God they work >strong>:D

Yes. We checked all of that stuff. The printer was printing papers fine and then it just stopped. One of the employees was printing stuff online and then she went to a website to print something else and then it just stopped working-whenever you clicked print, the printer would have a light blinking (meaning that the data was being processed but it never loads) the printer doesn't make a sound.
That probably means there is some part that is failing since you indicated that it is receiving data via a flashing light. So i would say it isnt drivers or anything related to software that has failed. I would say a part on your printer is messed up. Maybe the motor that controls the rollers on it that moves the paper? There is a possibility that something came loose and now gears or something arent in contact anymore thus the reason why your printer isnt making a sound.

Are you sure there are no documents in the queue?

There are but an error message pops up and they all go away. My mom's employer thinks that a virus or worm might have messed it up but I don't think so.
I know this might be really complicated to do, but if you can. Print from Linux, there might be a virus on you Win XP.
