Replace XP start menu with Portable Apps menu

Sorry if posted before but I couldn't find anywhere in the forums or with the search.

I've been using Portable Apps for a while and now have just gotten an Acer Aspire One NETBOOK. I've been playing around and have managed ti hide the XP Start menu and button and have created a taskbar with the Portable Apps Menu for a start. Now comes the question for the hardcore developers.

Has anyone been able to successfully replace the Windows XP start menu and button with the Portable Apps Menu? If so what steps to take to integrate it correctly or can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you

Thanks for the response. So in other words the way I have it now is as close as I can get. No problems with me I hate the XP start menu.

Soon

You'll be able to have a movable icon to launch the menu in a later release. That would be close to what you want.

You could actually create a shortcut to the menu on your desktop for now. When it's run, it'll reshow the already running menu.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

if u use "desktopX" you can set a new floating shorcut with the z order on top & the icon of PAM placing it over the taskbar. then move PAM to the original's start meno possition. it could help...
