Hi,
I downloaded and installed Thunderbird Portable on a USB Flash Drive, it works fine but I would like to create many profiles because with Outlook Express I used many identities.
I read that you can manage (create/edit/delete) profiles through "profile manager" and you can reach it typing string to the url to .exe file plus "-p" option in the "start->run" prompt, e.g.:
"C:\Programs\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" -p
Actually it works on my C installation, but it doesn't work on my Flash Drive installation, in fact if I type:
"Z:\PortableApps\ThunderbirdPortable\ThunderbirdPortable.exe" -p
it just open Thunderbird Portable without prompting the "profile manager".
Is it impossible to manage different profiles on a Portable installation?
Thanks.
Yes.
Thunderbird Portable is designed to have one profile inside the /Data folder.

without the profile, so unless you are very limited on space its best just to have as many full copies of TBP on your drive as you need and make sure you give them unique names.
Or make a simple CMD or NSIS script that renames Data folder to anything else, you'll have another profile.
How would you do that ?
I'm a newbie, but I have my profile with a different name than "default", that don't point to the "profile" folder.
