GnuCashPortable has most recently been the baby of Shawn Faucher. While the stable release of GnuCash 2.2.9 has been out for a while now, Shawn does not seem to have been active recently in these forums and has not released a portable version. His work so far has been outstanding, and his GnuCashPortable NSIS launcher shows a very well thought out structure. I would far prefer Shawn to continue with this project, but I am prepared in his temporary absence to provide a beta 2.2.9 version for testing if there is any interest.
I have rolled Shawn's work forward and created a portable GnuCash 2.2.9 version recently for my own use. IMHO it is essential to upgrade to 2.2.9, as there is a problematic mirror-image printing bug that has dogged recent versions, but is now fixed.
I am not able to host it myself, so I need someone on the forum to volunteer to host the beta, if possible. I would prefer one of the long-term forum members who provide some hosting for others currently. If I can sort out hosting, it can be up in a day or so. Shawn, if you are working on this, let me know, and I will stand down.
Regards,
Kim,
Did you get any response from the Portable Apps developers team on your offer to provide a beta 2.2.9 version for testing?
I would be interested in an update for GnuCash portable to version 2.2.9.
There might be a possibility to host your beta 2.2.9 on:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucashportable/
Maybe you can contact the Project Administrator
http://sourceforge.net/users/rayven01/
and ask if it possible to upload the beta 2.2.9.
Regards,
Marlo
Marlo,
Not a peep! Anyway, give me a few days, and I will attempt to get a quick & dirty release out. I will see if I can contact rayven01.
Thanks for your interest.
Kim
