Check out the little search thingy above right, it'll give you more than whats on the outside. There are other little apps and add-ons buried within these hallowed pages, you just gotta dig....
Portable apps has really done the world of good for me. At school and stuff the internet only lets us look at certain sites and besides word and excel theres literally no programs on them. With portable apps, i can literally do what i want - its like bringing my computer with me!
Even though portable apps probably isnt supposed to do this - a lot of programs on my usb come up on my portable apps toolbar anyway! Which is great! Scummvm appears there which helps me heaps, but others like theme hospital (dont ask, its like my favorite game) i still have to access through my usb folder.
anyway, I love you portable apps!!!
P.S. i go for the Socceroos
I'm not usually such a suck up, but wow...
Portable apps, YOU ROCK!
for it's minimal install. With these, I can try it before I buy it, meaning, if it's a nice program, I'll head over to the official site and download the installable version. Not really, the portable versions serve me well, but that is an option if I decide to go all out instead of portable versions. I'm not into soccer, but some of my US counterparts will love this.....ROLL TIDE!!!!
The thing is, im currently using PA on my usb, but im thinking of getting a netbook (I know its a waste of money, but theres no way in hell ill ever afford a laptop) and portapps really is JUST what i need! Minimal install, takes up almost no space. It would be ideal for netbooks!

I absolutely ADORE my netbook (an Acer Aspire One). I bought it already having a full-size laptop, and I don't regret the purchase at all. I've found that while I hardly ever use my laptop, my netbook goes everywhere with me. Really, the only thing it doesn't have is a DVD drive, and with everything being on my flash drive anyway, there's no need for one.
OMG! Thats the netbook I want! The acer aspire 8.9" netbook!
I want the pink 160GB one, i knew it was awesome!
Every time i talk to someone about netbooks they say im stupid for wasting my money on something so small, but thank you, you really helped me. I love them because I dont really need a massive storage computer, just something light and easy that connects to the internet easily. The only storage I need is papers and documents (Which i could easily hold thousands of pages on if i buy that netbook) and maybe some applications that could help me take notes and stuff. but the thing is, with Portable apps, my programs are taken care of! Every thing is so much simpler when i use them!
Portable apps, you are GOD!

Netbooks threaten to ruin personal computing. If the masses buy machines just barely capable of viewing online advertising and shopping, the price of more powerful computers will skyrocket.
The best way to keep powerful computer's prices from "skyrocket"ing, don't buy them. Their inventory will go up, the warehouses will fill up, the assembly lines will slow and the manufacturers will have to reduce prices to clear out the backlogs.
The Linux and the new Windows 7 have lower hardware requirements so "powerful computers" will soon no longer be needed (to run Vista). "Powerful computers" are today's dinosaurs. Look for them at garage sales in the near future.
What about computers needed for media production or playing games or advanced software usage. I don't think netbook spell the end of the powerful pc or sky rocketing computer but another evolution of the process by which computers will now be available in another form. Still the humble desktop will be around for quite a while long er in my opinion.
but to me, the laptops and possibly netbooks don't have the lifespan of a desktop. I have three desktops, this one being the third, and had one laptop. My other two desktops just obsoleted into oblivion, they still work, but the software advances left them behind. Maybe good Linux projects in the future, who knows... But my laptop, that sucker... it cooked right in my lap and it was less than a year old. It had issues with overheating from the get go. This was before I found out about the usb driven cooling fans. My opinion, the netbooks are nice, I may purchase one in the future, but my main computing will stay on my desktop.

I'm sorry, but I don't think I'm ready to get into a relationship so soon. We need to slow down and think things through.

Have you noticed editing is always needed for the inevitable typos that weren't there when you hit the "post" button?
