John,
Logout of the site and log in again.
You/I are/am taken to your/my user page, this was not what happened before.
Is this a bug as a result of the update, or is this intentional?
Tested in user and moderator accounts.
Thanks to ptmb for reporting
Tim
Same thing happened to me, so it's confirmed
Lead, Follow, or get out of the way.
Same here, I was logging in. Not logging back in.
A minor clarification: the login block, instead of refreshing the current page as is specified in the form action attribute, is doing an unconditional redirect to the default post-login page: /user/[uid]... fortunately (for consistency) the log out page also misses the HTTP referrer, and takes you to the front page.
I am not aware of any way this could be other than a manual change in the source code (which I don't believe John'd do) or a bug in Drupal. I go for the latter.
I decided to look at the Drupal core issues tracker, and whaddaya know... so I confirmed it for us

This was a Drupal bug. It is fixed in the release they just made and I just applied.
