Hey all,
I've looked to see if anyone else has reported this, either for the portable version or the standard version, but haven't seen anything so thought I would address it here.
I've got a new install of OpenOffice 3.0.1 paf. When I start up Writer, I've got a ton of toolbars opened in the toolbar area. I try to close all the toolbars that I don't need, but as soon as I restart the program, they all come back. They take up about half the window. Frustrating.
Running OpenOffice 3.0.1 base install - no extensions, no templates, no image pack - on Windows XP Pro.
Any thoughts as to why I'm getting this and what I might be able to do to fix it?
Thanks
... in the local or portable version.
The only icon the local version (with default settings) will install is the Openoffice.org Tray Icon.
So what toolbar entry do You mean? Entries in the Taskbar for open writer documents?
After the start of OpenOffice.org (Portable) writer You'll have one (!) single entry in the taskbar called Untitled 1. If there are more ore others there are not the result of Openoffice.org. Sometimes there a Firewalls or tools like 'spybot search an destroy' who will detect the start (and perhaps a try to get an internet connection) of OpenOffice.org and than show a hint.
Try to delete the Data/settings folder in Your OpenOfficePortable directory. If there are problems (like autostart makros of an old install) the issue should be fixed after deleting the profile folder.

So I went back to take a screen shot of the problem and lo and behold, I can't get it to do it now. It did it at least 6 or 7 times, through restarts and all.
The only thing I've done differently was run the Java Portablizer program to update my Common Files Java. Still doesn't seem like that would have had any effect.
Regardless, it seems to be fixed now.
Wrong java settings or problems with the java folder could be one reason for problems. But if it works now, I am happy too

An idea may be to put a recommendation to update Java Portable on the main thread and later official homepage for OO.org Portable. Could prevent this issue or others not yet seen with the same cause.
