Portable SimpleOCR?

Do you think it would be possible to make a portable launcher for SimpleOCR (http://www.simpleocr.com/), the only free OCR program I know of?
However, it is not open source, so you will need some kind of "create keys, launch, wait until close, then delete keys" thing...

Uh... one problem: it's not open-source. John can't legally modify the program and then redistribute the modifications... not even to make it portable. If you want a portable version of a commercial application, you have two options: (1) do it yourself or (2) find someone to make a launcher for you.

@John T. Haller
I'm tired of answering these. I think we all are. Could you please add a note to the FAQ so that people know not to request commercial apps?

Um...

Maybe I'm wrong, but methinks they were asking for a howto/tutorial. (If not, see above post.)
I do agree with you though, Bruce. Also there are not enough devs for all the requests(even just the valid ones). I wish people would take the time to search, read, and just get an all around feel for the place before asking for [insert want here].

I agree

I have way to much on my plate to be a dev ATM.
Plus, Steve is holidays. *runs away screaming*

Not what I mean...

What I meant is that is there a way to launch it so it does not leave any traces on the computer, not to modify it or something...
Actually it doesn't matter, if someone can just package it up so it can at least run, that is fine, I don't really care about leaving traces...

This is what I've been trying to tell you. We can't "package it up" for you because that would be illegal. You're still modifying the original package and then redistributing it, which is almost certainly prohibited by their license agreement. You'd have to figure it out yourself or get someone to give you instructions.

Thanks!

Thank you!
(I have looked at that page before, a long, long time ago.)

Now we have to make it portable...
