If the "Integration with Windows Explorer" option is checked during installation, any file can be scanned from within Windows Explorer simply by right-clicking on it and selecting "Scan With ClamWin Free Antivirus"
Q: This is not possible with a portable app?

It isn't possible with the portable version because it integrates ClamWin into the windows explorer.

Also Portable ClamWin is not an active scanner like the real clamwin.
ClamWin itself is not realtime in either the portable or local installed versions.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Note that this is not "true" integration, you are merely using a "send to" link to send the file name to ClamWinPortable. It's not as graceful as the Installed version of ClamWin, but it works for me
Note that "send to"s are usually stored in:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\SendTo
in Windows XP.
I would guess that in vista it would be something like:
C:\Users\username\SendTo
But I don't use Vista
my cwp.cmd contains what is below, You would have to use your proper path to where you have ClamWin Portable located of course:
Your path might be something simpler like:
c:\portableapps\ClamWinPortable
Note I have never tried this from a flash drive.

Yes, that is something I use all the time, as you may note I was an active part of that topic, but it is not really what the op was asking for.
While excellent, that is only useful when you do a download and at the time of the download, it is not really useful when you want to scan a file which is already on your hard drive, or on a flash drive or floppy disk.

IDK for whatever reason, (corrupt update maybe?) it stopped working on mine and I removed it. I may have to go back and retry it because it is a good thing to have. Sorry for the confusion.
