Is it a BIG bug?

Hi,

I install the openoffice V2.0.2 in my U3 device successfully. Then I get an interesting result.

"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\U3\0C410B50C2011A90\285E6953-BF3C-4445-9376-2F55D7F645B8\Exec\"

The path above is which u3 create for openoffice when U3 is inserted into a computer. Openoffice can run up and work well in Chinese version WinXp, but not in English version WinXp.

I add a new login user "abc" in my English WinXp, and the path is changed to the following:

"C:\Documents and Settings\abc\Application Data\U3\0C410B50C2011A90\285E6953-BF3C-4445-9376-2F55D7F645B8\Exec\"

Now Oppenoffice can run up in my english winxp. It seems if the path length is beyond 109 bytes(plus "PortableOpenOffice" it will be 127 bytes), openoffice can't run up in English winxp!!! (But be surprised, it works well in Chinese WinXp. ???)

Hope the veterans can give me some feedback. Thanks.

Best regards,

Anthony

Relax

Ok, was it really necessary to post this twice in the forums AND contact me directly via email on SourceForge? It says very clearly on the Contact page here that there is NO support via email. Trying to get around that rule by contacting me directly on SourceForge is just, well, lame.

Second, this issue is with OpenOffice for U3... NOT Portable OpenOffice. They are two different apps and are supported differently. OpenOffice for U3 is not hosted or handled on SourceForge as it is not 100% open source due to necessary U3 components.

Third, I've successfully run this on accounts named Administrator, so the issue may not be what you think. I'll take a look at it when I get a chance to.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
