AppCompactor Compatibility

I thought it would be helpful to create a list of programs that can be compacted using the PortableApps.com AppCompactor. I know that the PortableApps hosted here have been compacted prior to being posted. I was wondering if we could create a list of other programs that the AppCompactor can compress without negative effects (program won't launch after being compacted, etc.)

So, has anyone tried the AppCompactor on local installations or other programs that are naturally portable (i.e. apps listed on PortableFreeware.com) and found it to work well? If you have tested the AppCompactor on other programs and it worked, please inform the reader if you used Default Settings or if you modified the pre-selected configuration that the program offers upon launch.

Most

If anything, you'd do it the other way. Nearly all apps will work fine with the default settings. If you turn off the JAR compression, a good chunk that don't work then will. The only thing that will cause issues is some plugins for some programs.

I compressed my local

I compressed my local installation of FrostWire using the default settings and I received an error message. I then ran the UNCOMPRESS command and then proceeded to re-compress it with the Compress JAR option unchecked. Seems to work fine now Smile

Same

That would actually yield the same app. UNCOMPRESS only uncompresses DLLs/EXEs. JAR files, once compressed, can't be changed back. That's why we recommend backups first.

Not too much of a problem. I

Not too much of a problem. I simply uninstalled FrostWire, re-installed it and it maintained my settings. Then proceeded to compress with the JAR option unselected. Works fine so far, just an error about Chat not working. I don't mind tho because I don't use the chat option in FrostWire.
