I have a huge number of Outlook Express emails on a computer. I want to use Thunderbird portable to "back these up" and then run Thunderbird portable on a flash drive to go between two locations.
so, I guess I want to do two things:
1. Get Thunderbird portable set up. No problem here.
2. Get all the old email from Outlook Express. I am not in this location but I assume I go to tools and import.
Does that sound right?

I did that a lot of years ago... then I totally removed Outlook... and you'll do it too... ; )
If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port,
and the bus is interrupted as a very last resort,
and the address of the memory makes your floppy disk abort,
then the socket packet pocket has an error to report
I really like Thunderbird Portable. I accomplished the above mission very easily. I also like to use it to back up gmail and Outlook 2007.
I wish there were more portable apps, and in particular more portable operating systems.
