Updating GPG

Since it has to be installed (normally), I'm not sure how to update it. I'd rather not be stuck with 1.4.3 forever.

Hi;

I am useing "gpg / gpgshell" on my USB drive in a portable mode.

You need to install onto your PC both programs. Then download a utility called "copy2usb". There is a link to the utility in the "gpgshell" documentation.

You extract this utility into the same directory as "gpgshell" is installed and run it. Then just follow the directions.

Or you can just copy your installed "gpg" manually on to your USB and it wil run.

That's from the PGP-Basics group on Yahoo!, which I'm part of. My name's even on there, although my message isn't there for some reason. I plugged Portable TB.

I'll wait for John, since he's the one who set it up. It's probably okay just to copy the binaries, but I want to make sure.

Really?

I didn't know that... just saw "Frank Hubeny". It is almost time for the TB update. That should take care of it. Wink

I don't normally bother with

I don't normally bother with the new releases here, since it's easier to autoupdate.

So John, is it okay to simply copy the files?

Sig says 1.4.3, but 1.4.3

Sig says 1.4.3, but 1.4.3 doesn't exist on my drive or the computer's HD. I've started a topic on the Enigmail email group. I have checked the executables in a command propmt, and they all return 1.4.5 as the version.
