I Recently Downloaded the Full Portable Apps Suite and Every AV i have Run Detects a virus in clamwins EXE file either when i attempt to run Clamwin it Detects it and Closes Clamwin Screaming at me about a virus Or During on of the many Standard Scans i do of all my portable Devices it will detect a virus in the .exe of The Clamwin Installed by the portableapps Suite. Avast AVG and NOD32 have all detected this At first i Thought maybe it was a glitch but Have decided to save myself The headache and delete the Clamwin portable from the Flash Drive has anyone had any similar Issue?
Looks like you ran into a false positive. Sorry for that experience. Can you try using the current ClamWin Portable release (the one in the suite isn't the latest) and see if that fixes it for you?
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
I did Grab the newest Release It scans as clean What Worried me was 3 Different AV's Gave me a positive on it not just 1 of them
Does updating the virus signatures fix the problem?
No. Thats one of the reasons it is picked up as a virus is because the virus database is sometimes picked up as a virus. Makes sense seeing as it contains the information on how the viruses work. I have had the same problem with Stinger being detected by McAfee as a virus. Singer is OWNED by McAfee which made the situation all the more laughable.
I ran the update, and the local virus scanner (school computer) deleted freshclam for some trojan (i don't feel like doing it again)...
then i re-installed (with latest version) and during the install the same thing happened, as soon as it got to freshclam.exe the local scanner deleted it (from my flash drive)...
argh...
well, not critical to run it at school, i can probably dl it from the library
is there a fix for this? or is it just re-install and download the updates from a computer with a less invasive virus scanner?
thanks

Unfortunately the only way to deal with a situation like this is to find out what the antivirus program is and upload a copy of the file to them, reporting it as a false positive, and ask them to investigate.
As an alternative, if the only problem is freshclam.exe, the database updater, you can download the latest version of the data base from here:
http://www.clamav.org/download/cvd
the file you want is daily.cvd
be sure to delete any daily.* you may have in:
x:\path\ClamWinPortable\Data\db
i.e. daily.cvd or daily.cld

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
I ran into the same problem with my McAfee detecting a trojan, Artemis, on the both the Clam portableapps install and on the Clam installation. It's unfortunate that an AV program contains a virus itself.
This is a False Positive
by the way, Artemis is not the name of a Trojan, it is a version of McAfee.
Could you give some details, does your McAfee show a detection when run on ClamWinP itself, or while ClamWinP is doing a scan?
If so see here for some idea of what might be happening.

I have just run McAfee on the whole CWP directory and it comes back clean.
