Flash portable launcher

This thing would be similar to the Java Portable launcher already avaliable. I would allow us to run flash player on computers that don't have it readily available for use.

Please make this portable app.

Firefox

Drag and drop it on Firefox or any web browser with Flash capability. If your portable Firefox doesn't do Flash yet, I've prepared this wikiHow article to help people use Portable Firefox, and it covers getting Flash to work better than the help/support page for Firefox here (though it does cite that as a source and link back to it).

I suppose there won't be a portable flash player made.

Maybe, maybe not

I wouldn't count it out entirely. But Flash is not open source. Macromedia used to offer, and Adobe (they own Flash now) may still offer the Flash player. Perhaps a portable launcher can be made for it.

Firefox is the best option for now, that can currently be done. I have a Flash game on my drive, and I can play it by dropping it on Firefox. It's not a problem at all.

Irfanview is another choice, but it isn't a very good one, as it can only play files made up to a certain old version of Flash (6? 7?). It doesn't work with the game I have. If you have a really old Flash game, Irfanview may be able to help.

I don't speak for PortableApps. I'm an advocate, not an authority. When somebody asks a question, my answer is based on what I've seen, and from what I've seen, they don't like making things that are pretty much already available in their format. However, the format is open and anybody can make a PAF-compatible portable application, or develop a launcher for a non-Open Source program (like the Flash player).

You're right...

I forgot to look into the open source and other stuff... Sometimes we just get carried away about what we want.

Oh well...
