I no that the new Beta's coming out don't have many good tasting themes to catch your attention so i decided to go out and create on of my own to my liking. So i made a full work up of the vista start menu for the 2.0 this is my first theme so Please don't complain.

Complain? That's awesome. I'm using the Dark theme from PTC, but I like how yours looks flatter, not the kind of virtual bevel this theme has with the lighting or whatever. Can't access mediafire from this terminal; I'll have to get the theme from home.
Personally I like the default themes, but yeah it is really nice.
I don't think I've ever really liked a custom theme - but this one is a nice one because it doesn't use any of those horrible synthetic bevels, just simple, well-rounded borders. Well done. I especially like the way you've highlighted the personal picture feature. Just remember though that you shouldn't really be including any artwork from Windows itself. This puts the personal picture and the close and eject pictures in jeopardy... and the eject one should really be changed anyway.
Maybe the personal picture could default to empty space.

LOL, the default and official themes use those "horrible synthetic bevels", if we're talking about the same thing. Anyway, have you seen the multi-pack MrElchbau offers on PTC? The ones that make good use of transparency are really neat. Well, unless you prefer the simple look, as I do, which is why I use his Dark theme. This topic's author's theme is very nice, though, so I may switch.
The personal picture defaults to what is seen in the screenshot? (I can't download it for another 4 hours.) If so, yeah, that's not cool. Anything Microsoft owned or Microsoft-affiliated should be avoided, in general. I like the idea of a border, but only for square images. I had the avatar I had here last week (Rock Band bass icon, a circle) but just changed it to the one I have now (Oblivion logo, a more complex shape) and the frame would not look good. Without a frame, it just looks slick. Anyway, I've seen free icons on the Net, so maybe Vista-style eject and exit buttons could be found.
Good points; also (getting back to the theme creator), if this is a work in progress, when it's done (or if it's done now) submit it over at PTC (PortableApps Theme Central); I'm sure they'd love to have it? Not sure if they take submissions or just host their own stuff, but I'd say it's worthy of being there.
"Horrible synthetic bevels" means ones like the GIMP makes. The main PortableApps.com Platform look is very clean, with a much more real 3Dish look.
I didn't download it, but take a look at the posted screenshot, it has a copy of the main image on the desktop, with preview enabled, and it's got a splotch on it which looks like that.
That whole frame is just straight off the Vista start menu.

Just took me 4 hr. with MS Paint
but thats the point of "Vista Theme" couldnt get the icons the way i wanted they looked all sketchy so i left them out.
I got the idea from the main theme that came out with the beta "Windows 7 Theme" and led me to make a vista version.

Its not a direct link to the theme you need to click on [Windows Vista.patheme] then in the next window that should popup click on [Click Here to Start Downloading] to start downloading....

Did you try converting the icons to 24x24 size?
And when you try to download it it comes up with .pathme file? what do I use to open that?
EDIT: Nvm, just figured out what .pathme is.
It's great. I really like it but I have a question, why do you have so many non portable apps on there? and how did you get them on?

I've Accumulated them over time.
All you have to do is drag your selected program file Folder
(C:\Program Files\%your folder%)
and drag it into your flash drive as so
(%Host Drive%:\PortableApps\%drag here%)
1.Make sure that in your folder there is one (.exe) file
2.You must rename your folder from (Your Folder) to (YourFolder) just make sure there are no spaces.
3. Then Restart
