PortableApps.com is proud to announce the release of Atomic Tanks Portable 3.8. Atomic Tanks is a game in which you control an overly-powerful tank and attempt to blow up other highly powerful tanks. Players get to select a number of weapons and defensive items and then attack each other in a turn-based manner. The last tank standing is the winner. It's packaged as a portable app, so you can play wherever you'd like. It's packaged in PortableApps.com Format so it can easily integrate with the PortableApps.com Suite. And it's open source and completely free.
Features
Atomic tanks is a multi-platform Scorched Earth clone similar to the Worms series of games. Annihilate the other tanks to earn money, then spend it on bigger and better shields and weapons to wipe out the opposition. It features a wide array of weapons, AI players, destructible landscape, weather, parachutes, teleports and a wide range of other features.

Thanks
Thanks for your work on this, Simeon.
Uh-oh.
I uninstalled the beta version, and installed the new version, and now it crashes when I start a game, or after I fire my first shot.
Perhaps a corrupt download.
Perhaps a corrupt download. Delete, Redownload and install. If the issue persists, please make a new forum thread. As always, problems should go in the forums and not in the news storys.
I don't know what happened.
But it works okay now.
Cool,
thanks Simeon. Fixes that the bug introduced in Pre-Release 2?
Fixed
I fixed the issues you mentioned in your last comment. It now does the compare of the language changing to the APPLANGUAGE variable after it becomes a number.
Um...
Not that I'm not enjoying all the app releases currently, but how come they became official before the became pre-released?
Like this one and Dia Portable.
I Picked Em
Because I picked em and thoroughly tested them. And, unfortunately, the release team is basically dead and will need to be reformed so we can start doing it properly.
I'll go back to testing...
Meh, Since I got a new flashdrive, and a partioned 250GB external hardrive, (Half of it is unusable on PCs,) I'll go back to my more active state of testing beta apps. Though, I find it ironic that the testing team starts to break down now when new apps are being released left and right, (coincidence?), a new PA platform is comming out, and the site won awards at SourceForge.
Ummm,
I think you missed the Pre-Releases: ATanks Portable Pre-Releases (since Oct 2008) and Dia Portable Pre-Releases.
This app makes me wish
This app makes me wish someone had taken over my work on Wormux and got that released.
Thanks John
but I was doing some improvements on this and planned to release them these days. I hope the bugs some people are reporting aren't too serious and there is no need for a revision.
Thanks!
Thanks! Downloading...
