Differential Backup; question about "one source folder" support.

The distribution of your Toucan as freeware is greatly appreciated.
I am using 2.1.2 under WinXP Pro/SP3.

Regarding differential backups and the help file, "Currently this only supports one source folder." Please consider these scenarios:

One:
I do a differential back up on "Folder1"
Inside that is "FolderA" and "FolderB"
Inside "FolderB" is "FolderX" and "FolderY"
This writes the base file.
Later, I revise a file in "FolderY"
At the next differential, that revision will be preserved in the date and time file. Yes? No?

Two:
I do a differential back up on "Folder1"
Inside that is "FolderA" and "FolderB"
Inside "FolderB" is "FolderX" and "FolderY"
This writes the base file.
Layer, I move "FolderY" to from "FolderB" to "FolderA"
At the next differential, that path will be preserved by the first date and time file. Yes? No?
Later, move "FolderB" into "FolderA"
At the next differential, that path will be preserved by that latest date and time file. Yes? No?

Three:
I do a differential back up using default compression; this writes the base file.
Later, after changes, I do another differential back up using no or different compression.
This is OK. Yes? No?

Thank you!

When

is states that is simply means that you cannot backup more that one root folder into a differential set for example adding a folder on one drive and a folder on a different drive to the same differential job. Because of this I think that:

  1. Yes
  2. Yes, yes
  3. Not sure, I'll get back to you

Hope that helps Smile
