I know this has been discussed before, but I still haven't seen a useful portable bittorrent client to download. I know that you can make μTorrent portable, but its not open source (at least I don't think it is), and I haven't had much luck with deluge and anyway the one on this site is outdated. I found two useful bittorrent clients that do look promising. They are both portable already but I would like to see some one compile them into PortableApps.com format.
The First is G3 Torrent, the problem with this one is that the project was abandoned.

http://g3torrent.sourceforge.net/
It is still a very good torrent client. It is written in Python.
The second is Halite, some people say download speeds are comparable to μTorrent.

I don't know why there is a x64 and x86 version, but x86 should work for all processors. It also has a set of 20 different languages. It is written in C++.
Thanks
You can put uTorrent on your flash drive easily, just put the exe there, and when you open it, don't check the install box, or the install ask toolbar box, and you can run it easily off a flash drive.
actually halite looks like a pretty good candidate and I'll post a development test once I find out where settings and such for it goes

I think it would be a good candidate too, all the languages already done and it is already portable. Speeds are even like µTorrent.
As I said I don't think μTorrent is open source.
has a launcher look https://portableapps.com/node/13373
60\/\/ 2 /\/\3 4 1 4/\/\ 12007
bow to me for i am root
I didn't know it had a launcher like that, but that is still not what I am looking for. I'm talking about a totally open source bittorent client.
In the past i used utorrent but stopped when it went "corporate"
Since that i have been using deluge portable for some years now and it has always worked great for me. I just wish someone would pick it up, as its portable version is outdated.
ps: i've tried halite but it didn't work well at all for me, connections/limits/speed wise...
I didn't have any problems with Halite, but if you know of any better open source bittorent clients post them here. Those two are the only good portable good open source applications that I could find.
You could also use the old Bittorrent (Mainline) Client. I think version 5 and everything before were open source. The only problem is the open source version will never be updated.
It can be found here:

I got halite done https://portableapps.com/node/20543

So far it looks great! I assume you will get all the languages working though. One question I would like to ask is will it gerneate new connection settings for every computer you plug it into or will it keep the setting from the computer you fist started it on.
Thanks!
PS: It didn't take you long to get the job done :)!
I have been teaching myself C++ for the last 2 weeks now and am just wondering what programs you used to compile it into that format?
Thanks Again
definetly not c++ we use a scripting language called NSIS
though just for the fun of it I'm making my own C++ based launcher just like I said for the fun of it and for my own amusement

Thanks, Hopefully they will pick up this app :).
So you use NSIS to change where halite's default directory's, were?
(like where halite puts and finds the settings and language files)
Why is Halite not a official app in the PortableApps project?
have all what this community need:
-is opensourse
-is very good App
-use not many system resource
-all the big Trackers alow the BT client!
p.s. uTorennt is not the right solution for the PortableApps community:
-is corupt
-is not opensourse
-and is one of the BIGEST spy ware tools!(sending your userinformation to 6 or more spy agents/websites!
