i've been using a "portable" eject program that works when the standard one does not
i also downloaded a 'script' that is supposed to do the trick, haven't tried it yet
they work
perhaps we could integrate something into the menu?

I have been looking for a better eject program, too. Which ones are you using? Where can we find them?
This will be built-in to the next platform release.
Also, please leave offf the random '[FR}' characters from your posts.

I wondered about that too, I think it's short for Feature Request. It would not be bad if most people knew it, but I don't think they do.

It's a different Eject script and is written in Delphi. Both EjectUSB and Ejectscript are AutoIT-based and will cause false-positives with anti-virus and anti-malware programs (AutoIT has been used to write several trojans, so false positives will happen rather often).
I said random because you're using different symbols in the beginning and end of the abbreviation, which makes it look like a random combination of characters rather than an acronym. Acronyms only make sense when they are standardized and people know what they mean. When you're the only one who knows, they're random noise to everyone else.

The letters weren't really random; I figured FR = Feature Request just by thinking about it for a moment, but what was random was the goofy [__} bit. {FR} or [FR] would have been appropriate, and maybe one was a typo, but then another topic did the [FR} thing, and then it became silly.
And no acronyms not trademarked (e.g. LOL vs. IBM) are standard, they just enjoy varying degrees of widespread acceptance. Everyone knows LOL and ROFL and even the juicier GTFO and WTF (which often enough now, gets spelled out as Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, which is both amusing and annoying) but there are a lot of random ones that small groups of people know (and why does Firefox's spellchecker recognize ROFL but not the other three, particularly LOL?). I once Google'd JFGI, imagine my reaction...

btw, the eject scripts work great when the regular eject does not...
i use one, then the other if necessary, any order.
usually the first one works if you do it again, but sometimes not, then use the other
