Like the title says, whenever I load a particular message board and scroll to the bottom where the drop down box is (jump to: different parts of the forum, etc.), FFP crashes and it gives a memory "read" error. Everything is fine until it gets to the bottom of the page, I can browse the site all day but as soon as I scroll down to a certain point... Game over.
This happens on my work computer. Internet explorer on the same computer navigates the same website just fine and so does my home computer with non portable firefox. It just started happening recently. I've been using the previous version of FFP for months with no problems. It started crashing two days ago, so I downloaded the latest version and it still crashes.
Any ideas how to stop this?

It sounds like something with the board's code. I'm sure I'm not alone in being real curious as to what that board is, but you didn't seem too interested in saying which. Doesn't matter, there's a fairly easy way you can test it. Find out what software the board is running. Should say... at the bottom, so look in IE. Is it Invision, vBulletin, phpBB, Drupal (like here), or something else? There are quite a few, but those are the big ones. Note the text, e.g. "Powered by Drupal". Now go back to Portable Firefox and Google that term. Go to a board other than your trouble board and test the problem there.
Example: Snopes.com runs on a forum platform called Groupee (also known as Eve, UBB.threads, Infopop, and now some new name I can't remember). This board also powers the major newspaper in my hometown, address pressdemocrat.com. If you were having trouble with Snopes (or any other Groupee/Infopop board), hit up pressdemocrat.com, find their forums, and see if it makes you crash.
Without knowing what board, I think that's the best you're likely to get, but it'll tell you more than you knew when you wrote that post. Now if the second board does crash you, it's something with the forum platform. If the second board doesn't make you crash, it's something the first board did.

It being a problem with the board was my first though too but more of something they did to this particular board and not a vBulletin problem in general. Thanks for the tips, I'll do some more troubleshooting when I go back to work.
Not too sure on the letter of the law regarding links; generally they're frowned upon, but I think for something like this it would be OK, just so others can test it.
Reluctantly (because I'm at work) I hit the link, and scrolled all the way to the bottom of the page. No crash. Then again, I also run Adblock Plus which might, in theory, be blocking bad code, e.g. if it's an ad causing the crash.
Only if it were a warez or adult site, would I imagine posting the link would be discouraged. Even still, the mods can and regularly do edit links out of posts, so even then, with a NSFW warning... I wouldn't think it would be too bad, if only for the sake of troubleshooting... but I'm not a mod or anything.

While I also don't get a crash, I have the flashblock extension (set to show a placeholder for flash) and see there is a flash area near the bottom. Could the flash be interacting with one of your extensions?
I still get the crash with no extensions. Completely default install.
Apparently, it's intermittent because I was just able to go there without the crash. Coincidentally, a different site (also a bodybuilding site) just caused the crash so perhaps it is one of the adds. I suppose that would make sense; if they cycle adds and one of them is bad. Next time it happens, I'll try flashblock and see what happens.

Well, it looks like it was, indeed, the flash that was causing the problem. I installed flashblock and the page loads fine, with fb disabled it crashes.

Well, I thought it was fixed but I started going to aionsource.com and I get the error/crash again. It has happened on another site too but I cant remember what it was. I'm still using Flashblock and I just updated to 3.5.3. I found out that if I call the webpage and then switch to another tab before it has time to load, it won't give the error.
It also may be worth mentioning that I'm using a proxy to bypass the web filter since I'm at work. However, when I was getting the error on the steroid forums, I was not using the proxy because, oddly enough, that site isn't blocked. So, I don't thing that has anything to do with it.
This is driving me crazy because I hate using IE. FFP is usable but switching tabs while pages are loading is getting annoying.
