Each time I try to exit GIMP, it freezes. This happens whether I had first saved the project or wanted to discard it. Windows eventually asks me to "End Task". Anybody have any ideas? I am running it from a Memorex 512MB thumb drive.

Not sure if program actually freezes. Running GIMP Portable on 1Gb flash drive, it behaves this way for me too, but I've noticed it also exits from slowly when running on a desktop system, even not clearing from the screen by itself. But it DOES eventually close down on the desktop system, so it might be a case of impatience. Programs tend to run slowly from a flash drive anyway, so combine that with slow to exit and it might just appear to "freeze" on exit.

just tried out the new version 2.2.12 -- brilliant speed, and none of that "freeze on exit" problem. still doesn't search system for fonts though!
